THE NEWLY-REVIVED DECCA NASHVILLE LABEL PROUDLY PRESENTS THE BRAND NEW SINGLE FROM YOUNG BRITISH DUO, THE SHIRES – ‘FRIDAY NIGHT’, TO BE RELEASED ON 23RD FEBRUARY

                  From their eagerly awaited debut album ‘Brave’, this contagious singalong track is further proof that the hotly-tipped twosome know how to craft a catchy chorus. ‘Friday Night’ is sure to become an end-of-the-week anthem for all those ‘9 to 5’ers, and is perhaps the natural sequel to Dolly Parton’s classic, uniting all office workers. The music video, which was filmed in LA, features actor Mark Boone Junior from ‘Sons of Anarchy’, as well as a group of US championship skateboarders. The Shires – Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle (from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire) – are the first UK signing to the re-launched Decca Nashville label. Originally set up 80 years ago, Decca Nashville became home to a host of country superstars including Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, who was then known as the “Decca Doll”. From the 1950s, Decca Nashville was one of the leading labels in America for country music, and remained so for a couple of decades. Decca was also the label for Country Queen Dolly Parton between 1997 and ‘98. Managing Director, Rebecca Allen, comments “It’s incredible to see what’s happening here in the UK with country music and hearing young, homegrown musicians embracing this scene and making it their own. Night Engine support Adam Ant

On Friday night D Digital were lucky enough to catch rock 4 piece Night Engine support slot at Adam Ant’s show at the Islington Assembly Hall. Adam was great of course, but Night Engine were incredible. The band have a stage presence that revived Adam. The sound and songs were brilliant and nothing like any other band out there.
